Hand Painted Indian Timber Grinder Tables | Assorted Sizes
These Indian chakki/grinder tables are available in these rare and unique designs across a colourful display in various sizes. Originally used with a large timber pole in the middle with two women, one on either side to twist the pole. This in turn would separate the chaff from the wheat. Mainly found in Northern India. The Southern variety which would separate rice from it’s husk is slightly smaller and much lighter. They come with carved legs and also lots of carvings on their sides. Often painted, they also come in plain timber and now for the modern decor in white and off white.
